HSEE projects are executed from dynamic offshore installation- or pipelay vessels. Our Senior Marine Engineers calculate motion characteristics for the vessels in given weather conditions and the environmental loads through the splash zone. They calculate the resulting loads and set the operating limitations when the equipment and crane capacities are known. An important part of the work is also to perform analyses of the vessel and product during lay operations. The product could be steel pipeline, flexible or umbilical's. This work is an important input to the procedure and safety issues for the operation. Lifting between vessels, installation/analyses of mooring systems and catenary riser systems are also part of the Senior Marine Engineers work. The Senior Marine Engineers use recognised national and international standards when they calculate the static and dynamic loads and define the operating criteria's. The Senior Marine Engineers use both software developed in-house and recognised software packages for their work. Senior Marine Engineers are often involved in crane verifications, sub-contractor follow-up and they manage relevant technical interfaces towards suppliers, clients and verification bodies. They often write or review the lifting and over boarding procedures, they participate in the lift planning and they work offshore in connection with installation work.
