SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER I Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline for a particular area of the project. Provides engineering assistance to superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality and assures results meet design requirements. On a large project, independently performs assigned activities in one discipline, interfacing with other disciplines in all areas of the jobsite. On a small to medium-sized project, functions as a lead discipline engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite. The Electrical Field Engineer is responsible for electrical field construction and installation activities including U/G duct bank and A/G raceway installation, cable installation, electrical equipment installation and terminations. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: - Determine manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for electrical craft - Develop daily craft assignments to be performed and review work accomplished - Prepare short- and long-term schedules, interface with other discipline superintendents and field engineers - Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in construction activities within electrical discipline - Develop electrical craft loading and manpower forecasts - Monitor actual work performance compared to the project budget and schedule - Coordinate activities with other disciplines and clients' resident representative as instructed by construction management - Perform personnel evalutions on subordinate personnel - Ensure the most current design documentation is being utilized to complete activities - Coordinate subcontractor labor supervision and craft distribution - Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs - Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project - Assists field procurement in inspection and receipt of electrical materials - Prepares material requisitions for permanent and temporary electrical materials - Ensures electrical equipment is stored and maintained in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and maintains documentation for procedures. - Troubleshoots engineering design, resolves issues with engineering BS in electrical engineering or related field experience. Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects. Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current BSAP standards, and familiar with current industry quality standards. All applicants must have the right to work and remain in the United States. Must have a good working knowledge of SETROUTE and how it applies to construction and relates to design. Length of assignment: 30 MONTHS
